About Otolaryngology

  • Ear, nose and throat conditions

The Otolaryngology Department at The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) provides a full range of clinical services for the management of children with conditions involving the ear, nose and sinuses, the throat and the airway. This is with close association with several other departments within the hospital and especially respiratory medicine, neonatal care, intensive care, audiology and speech pathology.

The conditions treated include snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea, congenital problems involving the ear, nose and throat and neck, hearing loss and ear and sinus infections.

There is a 24-hour emergency service for patients as needed, and this includes treating children with conditions such as complications of ear and sinus infections and also inhaled foreign bodies and airway obstruction.

    Otolaryngology clinics

There are both general ENT clinics and specialised ones for patients with voice disorders, airway problems and hearing impairment.
